Alexander Rybak & FRIKAR – “Fairytale” in Ål
From May 30th- 31st, Alexander visited the “Folkemusikkveka”-Festival in Ål, Norway. On Saturday, 31/5, he performed outdoors in the town center of Ål, together with the original FRIKAR dance-crew from his winning peformance at Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow 2009 – Hallgrim Hansegård, Sigbjørn Rua and Torkjell Børsheim. They performed “Fairytale” – in the original choreography from Moscow 2009.

This is a BIG moment for me. Dreamworks Animations approved my new song Into A Fantasy, weeks before the premiere of How To Train Your Dragon 2! And now the song will be included in the end credits, in many countries in Europe! It started 2 months ago, when I was writing another song for my Norwegian musical. I realized that this song is much better suited for English lyrics. And at that time, I was doing voice-over for Hiccup. It struck me that the song would fit the dragon universe.
New Music-Video and Movie-Soundtrack: “Into a Fantasy”
In the days 19th – 20th of May 2014, Alexander Rybak recorded a new Music-Video for his next single “Into a Fantasy”. The Music-Video was recorded in the beautiful nature of Selje at Vestkapp in Norway and Alexander cooperated with the local community and used a lot of local citizens as extras in his biggest Music-Video, so far. The producer of the video is Tone Lise Asphol.

Alexander Rybak & Marija Serifovic: “Gorka Hrabrost”
In June 2013, Alexander Rybak visited the recording-studio of Marija Serifovic in Belgrade and together, the two ESC-winners recorded this song “Gorka Hrabrost” with Marija on vocal and Alexander on violin. The song is one of the tracks on the new album “Hrabro” by Marija Serifovic. “Hrabro” means “Courageous” and the songs title “Gorka Hrabrost”, means “Bitter courage”.
Alexander Rybak is coming to Baku, Azerbaijan.
Alexander Rybak will present a new project at the Heydar Aliyev Centre, on 15th of May.
The same day, he will give a concert together with students of the National Art Gymnasium. Later in the evening of May 15th, Alexander will visit the Pasifico Club in Baku as special guest. More information HERE
In connection with the project, he will arrive in Baku three days ahead of the concert and hold seminars and training for the youths to share the stage with him. Rybak will perform with an orchestra consisting of the Gymnasium’s students.
The concert will consist of three parts. The first part will feature the orchestra, the second part a joint performance and in the third part, Rybak will give a solo concert.
He will perform hits and other songs from his repertoire.
Alexander on a Musical Journey.
This spring, Alexander is looking forward to present a new concert: “A Musical Journey”. Together with pianist Øystein Lund Olafsen, Alexander invites the audience on a musical journey of classical “delights”, classical solo violin, humour, pop and jazz, added some of his songs from the TV2-broadcast, “Hver Gang Vi Møtes”.
Movie: Alexander Rybak gives voice to Hikken in “Dragetreneren 2”
The 3D-animated movie “Dragetreneren 2” ( “How to train your dragon 2”) from Dreamworks animation with Norwegian speak, will be released from Norwegian cinemas from July 4th 2014. Just as in the first movie about vikings and dragons, “Dragetreneren” from 2010, Alexander Rybak has the leading role as voice-dubber of the main-character, the young viking Hikken, who experiences new adventures with his tame dragon and human friends in the new 3D-animated movie, “Dragetreneren 2”. In 2014, Alexander took part in the TV2 -series “Hver Gang Vi Møtes”. In the first 7 episodes, each artist had a day, where they were in focus and in the 8th and final episode, they were all in focus and performed duetts together. The 7 artists of this season are: ELG, Anneli Drecker, Lars Lillo Stenberg, Simone Eriksrud, Alexander Rybak, Samsaya and Sigvart Dagsland.
Alexander’s visit to Belarus, April 2014
On April 16th, Alexander Rybak performed at a concert for 3500 people at the Ice Arena of Orsha, Belarus.
The following day, Alexander arrived in Minsk, where he visited the Belarussian State University of Culture and Arts and gave a master-class for 200 young students. He also met with the Belarussian minister of Culture, Boris Svetlov. Alexander revealed his plans for a large-scaled joint project, involving youth-orchestras from all Belarus.

March 1st is the premiere-day of the 3rd season of “Hver Gang Vi Møtes“. The TV-shows will be broadcasted during 8 Saturdays March 1st – April 19th, by TV2, Norway, .
Seven of the most popular artists in Norway live together for 10 days at a farm and pay tribute to eachother, by playing personal versions of eachothers most famous songs. Each of the first 7 shows, has one of the musicians as the “focus-person” and the 8th and final show will present duetts between the participants.
